Dov Katz was one of the trusted guys. His stellar credentials enabled him to land a job as a senior vision engineer. He was always entrusted with some of the biggest and crucial projects of the company. As a matter of fact, Dov Katz was the one who created the original position tracking system for Oculus Rift VR. His hard work and expertise paid off as he was promoted from a senior engineer to computer vision head. The owner of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg tried out the headset and he was blown away by it. He felt that he can incorporate it in Facebook and so he bought out not just the Oculus Rift VR but the entire company. He acquired the company for $2 billion both in stocks and cash. Dov Katz remained with the company until such time that it was bought out by Facebook.
Dov Katz graduated at Tel-Aviv University in Israel with a degree in computer science and electrical engineering. He moved to the United States and took up his masters and Ph.D. in computer science. He had a post-doc fellow at the Robotics Institute. He was also involved in various research and patents before landing a job at Oculus.
